Relaxed Fit, Perfectly Balanced Warmth: The Drought® Largo

Relaxed Fit, Perfectly Balanced Warmth: The Drought® Largo

You know the kind of mountain day. Too cool for a summer base layer, too mild for a heavyweight one. You warm up fast on the climb, then cool off the moment you stop.

The Drought® Largo is the base layer for that in-between. Its lofty fabric gives gentle warmth, pulls sweat away quickly and lets trapped heat escape on the move. Its relaxed fit means it looks just as good when your jacket comes off, on the trail, at the hut or after the hike.

Warm and Dry, Even on the Move

On a chilly mountain you want warmth, but trapped heat on the climb soon turns into sweat. The Drought® Largo balances gentle warmth with breathability and quick drying, so you stay comfortable from the first step to the last.

Warmth that works while you move

Brushed fabrics feel warm but can hold on to sweat. So we skipped brushing and developed a special 3-layer fabric instead. Its soft, lofty texture feels good on skin and gives just the right amount of warmth.

Dries fast, stays fresh

Our 3-layer Drought® structure uses a textured inner face and capillary action to move sweat to the outside of the fabric. Paired with 100% polyester, it dries fast. A grid pattern in the fabric lets trapped heat escape while you move.

Ready to Wear on Its Own

We designed the fabric for the whole day, from sweaty climbs to the hut and the drive home. It is also built to be worn on its own over a Elemental Layer®.

Stays fresh, even after you sweat

An antibacterial, anti-odor finish slows the growth of the bacteria that cause sweat odor.

Tough enough for the trail

With your jacket off, branches, trees and pack straps rub against your base layer. The fabric resists pilling and snagging to keep it looking good.

  • Pilling resistance: JIS L 1076 Method A, Grade 4.5
  • Snag resistance: JIS L 1058 D-3, Grade 4

The Details That Make a Difference

We wanted it to look less like underwear and more like a finished piece, so every detail is designed for movement, comfort and a clean look.

A chin guard that stays out of the way

The chin guard uses thin, color-matched tape to keep the slider off your chin without adding bulk. A low-profile zipper pull keeps the front neat.

Gussets for easy reach

Underarm gussets let your arms move freely.

A relaxed fit

The relaxed fit skims the body rather than clinging, yet sits close enough to pick up sweat passed on from your Elemental Layer®. You get a clean look and dependable sweat management when layering.

The Layer In Between

We made the Drought® Largo for the days between seasons, when one layer is too little and the next is too much. Wear it on the climb, keep it on at the hut, and head home in it.
