Relaxed Fit, Ultra-light Feel, Tough Build: The Miyama Pants

Relaxed Fit, Ultra-light Feel, Tough Build: The Miyama Pants

Not every day on the mountain calls for full technical gear. Tightening your waist belt and pushing hard for the summit is just one way to enjoy the outdoors. There's also the casual hike through the woods, the quiet afternoon picking mushrooms, the lazy morning fishing by a stream. These are the moments where you want to feel relaxed, but still want gear that holds up.

For many of us, these kinds of low-key outdoor moments are a regular part of life. And yet, reaching for serious trekking pants for a casual hike always felt like a bit much. Too technical, too deliberate. There had to be a middle ground, something that felt genuinely easy to wear without giving anything up in terms of function. That feeling is where the Miyama Pants began.

Simple design: Light, Easygoing, and Built for Airflow

The Miyama Pants take a different approach to what functional outdoor pants can look and feel like. Instead of belts, heavy waistbands, and multiple fabric panels, the design keeps things intentionally simple. A relaxed silhouette, a drawstring waist, clean seam lines. Every detail is considered not just for performance, but for that feeling of effortless ease when you pull them on.

A clean, simple design that blends into the scenery

The Miyama Pants have a relaxed fit through the body that tapers gently toward the hem, comfortable and roomy without looking baggy. Seams and fabric panels around the waist are kept to a minimum, dialing back the technical, gear-heavy look that's common in mountain wear. The result is a clean, understated silhouette that works just as well at a trailside hot spring or on the commute home as it does on the trail.

Freedom of movement through thoughtful pattern design

Rather than relying solely on stretch fabric for mobility, the Miyama Pants use a carefully considered pattern design with generous room built in throughout. The space between the fabric and your skin reduces leg-lift resistance during climbs, and also acts as a channel for airflow, letting heat escape and keeping things cool even on humid summer mountains.

Peak-summer ventilation with LINKVENT®

Along the outer thighs, Finetrack's LINKVENT® draws in fresh air and keeps it circulating as you move. For the Miyama Pants, we've upgraded to a larger mesh opening compared to previous designs, increasing airflow even further. Every step promotes ventilation, helping you stay cool and comfortable throughout the day.

Thin, But Built to Last

66 Nylon for strength where it counts

The relaxed look might suggest otherwise, but there's no compromise on performance here. The fabric uses 66 Nylon, a material known for its excellent strength and abrasion resistance, keeping the pants light and thin while giving them the durability to handle rocky trails, brushy terrain, and everything in between.

Durable water repellency for changing conditions

As with all Finetrack garments, the Miyama Pants come treated with durable water repellency. Light rain and mud bead off the surface, reducing that heavy, wet feeling and keeping you comfortable when the weather shifts unexpectedly.

The Details That Make a Difference

Smart storage and a clean waistband

On the right rear, there's a dedicated smartphone pocket sized to fit modern phones snugly, with the opening hidden along a seam line to keep the back profile clean. The front features a zipper opening, with full elastic and an adjustable drawstring around the waist for a customizable fit. No stiff belt, no fussy hardware, just a clean and comfortable waist that you can dial in exactly how you like it.

A subtle embroidered logo with a bit of personality

In keeping with the Miyama Pants' minimal aesthetic, the only decorative touch is a brand logo embroidered below the right pocket. It's a small detail, but the texture and craft of the embroidery add just enough character to make the pants feel at home off the trail as much as on it.

Construction that holds its shape over time

Each leg is sewn from top to bottom in a single direction, reducing the tendency to twist after repeated washing and keeping the pants looking and feeling their best over the long term. A gusset is also placed at the inner thigh to reduce fabric wear in a high-friction area, a quiet bit of craftsmanship that makes a real difference over time.
